1. How are mass nouns and non-count nouns similar? Give 2 examples of each to justify your answer. (7pts)
They are similar because, bothare uncountable nouns.
Any of them can not be count by themselves, because they need to be more than one
* Water , advice, sugar, etc. Mass nouns
* Rice,milk, uncountable nouns
2. In your own words explain what a variable noun is and use sentences and give 3 examples. (6pts)
The variable nouns depends on thecontext, because the uncountable nouns can be act as a countable nouns depending on what we want to say.
The waters of the pacific ocean are cooler than theatlantic ocean.
Because of war conflicts have increased more and more.
Zeus has incredible supernatural powers.
3. Explain the difference between collective andmass nouns; give 2 examples of each in a sentence.(7pts)
Collective nouns are group of people, things and animals, but the difference between these ones and the massnouns is that the collective nouns have meaning by their own, and mass nouns doesn’t have.
The audience applauded them standing, for their incredible show.
Thearmy was sent to Iraq, to help hurt people on the war.
I'll give you a piece of advice about this boy.
When I went to China, I ate much rice.
