THE ROBERT BRADY HOUSE-MUSEUM
The museum bears the imprint of someone who only loved artistic objects from all cultures of the world, but who had the taste and the courage to display them inhis own way. the house is as unusual and interesting as its owner who began life in fort dodge, iowa, in 1928 the son of a man in the trucking business and a doting mother who taught art.
in 1961brady visited mexico and fell in love with the country attracted by the exotic, and colorful, city. from then on he considered mexico to be "my spiritual home". the following year, bradypurchased an old house called la casa de la torre. orginally, the house formed part of the franciscan convent built by the conquering spaniards in the first half of the sixteenth century
thecollection on exhibit in the brady museum, more than 1300 pieces, spanning 22 centuries and five continents. curiously, some of the mexican arts was acquired in the USA and returned to its country oforigin
