WORKSHOP AND TOOLS

Perhaps the most important part of the factory is the workshop. In the workshop operators manufacture different articles, metal sheets, steel bars, etc. and to do this,they use machines. The different machines that may be found in a workshop are : the milling machine, the press, the grinding machine, the polishing machine and also the lathe, which is one of the mostimportant machine tools within a workshop.
Apart from this machines, other small tools may be also found in a workshop, such as for example : vices which are used for holding things ; files employedto smooth metal or wooden things ; screwdrivers, these vary in construction and design depending on their use, they tighten and loosen screws ; spanners which are used to hold and to turn nuts ;hammers of different types, chipping hammers, ball-peen hammers, forge hammers, etc., in general, these are utilized, to break or hit things and to drive in nails ; pliers, which are used to hold, bend ortwist things, wires, etc. ; hacksaw, which are tools for cutting wood or metal ; saws which also cut wooden things.
According to their function, tools are classified as follows :
a) Measuringtools : rules, scales, micrometers, squares.
b) Holding tools : clamps and vises.
c) Cutting tools : grindstones, grinding wheels, saws, knives, hacksaws, files, drills, chisels.
d)Securing or fastening tools : hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, spanners.
