We live in an era of sudden and unexpected changes. To succeed in these times of constant change, individuals, like companies, must examine our goals and constantly question the way in which we plan to reach them. The most important tool in dealing with constant change is a solid foundation. We must look deep inside ourselves so that we recognize basicprinciples and act on them to maintain strong ethics and values. Keeping this in mind allows us to increase our personal capabilities and fully engage in community life. Moreover, we must prevent society’s ills from jeopardizing or damaging the lives of individuals. To do that requires everyone’s active participation. TELMEX is doing its part to rise above social crises by promoting and practicingstrong ethical values and accepting responsibility not only as a duty but also an unavoidable obligation. The fundamental principles to which TELMEX remains committed are to improve constantly, to integrate new technologies, to promote the development of our employees and, therefore, to work for Mexico.

We demonstrate our integrity through our conduct. We must maintain leadership with honestand unquestionable conduct. This fourth edition of the TELMEX Code of Ethics integrates the day-today work experience, updates the vision of our environment and reaffirms the values that havedirected TELMEX’s consolidation, growth and projection as a company that is deeply committed to its country, its people and with the noble task of communicating. Our Company has been known to be a socially responsible entity that is consistent with its values and principles and, also, for internally strengthening the ethical conduct of its members. Also, this edition is an opportunity to respond to thenew conditions of the environment that we are experiencing in a complete and updated manner. Without a doubt, technological innovations and the several options in the current telecommunications market that are more competitive, more globalized and more demanding, in addition to the new regulatory obligations, require more committed answers. This new text, as well as the prior editions, maintainsthe same “heart” and provides a response to the new conditions for creating a healthy and improved context.
