John Christopher Deep was born June 9, 1963 in Owensboro (Kentucky). He had a difficult childhood marked by moving his family to Florida and the divorce of his parents, John (engineer)and Betty Sue (waitress), as a teenager. Annoyed with his family situation, Depp spent time playing his favorite instrument: the electric guitar at age 16 left the school to try his luck as amusician and joined a youth group to form the band "The Flame".
