Coelenterates phylum: They have soft bodies and sting cell in their tentacles that form a circle around the mouth. Radial symmetry. Live at sea. (Jelly-fish, sea anemone, hydra)
Platy helminthesPhylum:
Flat worms: Parasites with a flat body. Bilateral symmetry live in water or inside other organisms. (Planarian, tape worm)
Nematodes phylum:
Round worms: Parasites with a round body and notdivided in segment. Bilateral symmetry. (ascaris)
Annelids phylum:
Ringed Worms: worms with round body divided in ring like segments, they live in water, sea or soil. (earth worm, leech, rangworm)
Mollusks Phylum: Soft body usually protected inside a case or shell. Three body parts: foot, visceral mass and mantle. Live in water and land.
Bivalve Class: Have 2 shells (clam, oyster,mussel)
Gastropods Class: 1 or no shell (land and water snails, slugs)
Cephalopod Class: No shells present. They have big head and tentacles. ( octopus, squid, nautilus)
Arthropods phylum: They have ahard exoskeleton, segmented bodies and jointed limbs.
Insects Class: Largest group of animals (70%). They have their bodies divided in 3 parts. (Head-thorax-Abdomen) They have 3 pairs of legs, 1 pairof intimae and mouth parts. Most of them have 2 airs of wings (Ant, bee, butterfly, mosquito, and dragonfly)
Arachnids Class: They have their bodies divided in 2 body parts (Cephalothoraxes,abdomen)(Head, Thorax fused). They have 4 pairs of legs and queliceros (fangs)(spider, scorpions, tick)
Crustaceans Class: They have legs, a carapace the thorax, 2 pairs of antenna and 1 pair of pincers. Nowings. (Crab, shrimp, lobsters)
Myriapoda Class: They have many legs and segments, 1 pairs of antennae and mandibles
Chiropody Subclass: They have 1 pair of legs per body segment. They live inhumid environments and they are carnivores. (Centipede)
Diplopods Subclass: They have 2 pairs of legs per body segment. They live humid environments and they are herbivores. (Millipedes)
