In this chapter we could say the main character is Charles Darnay because it mostly talks about how he is in great danger. Lucie, which is now Darnay’s wife and had a baby with him, is really depressed, sad and scared during the whole chapter because she doesn’t want her husband to die in the guillotine. In this chapter we alsofind a new character, the Wood-sawyer. The main theme in this chapter is death because all it talks about is Darnay’s death in the guillotine. Another theme could be mourning because of Lucie’sdepression.

This could be either a foreshadowing or maybe the wood sawyer could be mocking Lucie. One day, Lucie came and the woodsawyer’s hut was closed and she was happy to be alone in there with her daughter, when suddenly, a group of people came dancing and singing and screaming. It was a very violent dance. They where hitting...
