THE LITTLE MERMAID

This is a reaction paper on The little mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. This is a really long story that in sometimes gets boring but it alsohelps to describe the whole setting so you have a really good idea of what’s happening. I saw to topics that really moved me. First I agree with the idea of falling in love and really wanting to go forit. Love is one of the most beautiful and purest things. It is what makes the world go around. I also like the idea of wanting to see new things in your life. When we are growing up we need to learnthe reality of the world by ourselves and not for what other have told us. Despite that, I disagree with the idea of letting everything you have, your family, your life, for someone that you actuallydon’t know at all. Even though you love someone that doesn’t mean you should leave it all for him/her. For me that’s actually the stupidest thing that anyone could do. The story is the average lovestory with a sad/semi sad ending. The life a girl that wants to change her lifestyle because she heard so many stories about a real/fictional world that she thought it was better than hers. Sheleft everything she had for the love of a complete stranger to her but she didn’t mind, she risks it all for him. She thought that he would love her as well but ended up with the cruel reality that hedidn’t want her. In conclusion this story shows us that not everything that seems good may be the right way to go. The saying “all that glitter is not gold” has a lot of doing with this. She thoughtthat the prince would leave everything for her just as she did for him but he didn’t. She was so blinded by his beauty that she never thought that he didn’t want her. That happens a lot now. We seea lot of women (although men do it too but it’s more common on women) that leave everything for someone they loved and end up broken hearted and in most of the cases lose everything they ever had,...
