Since Man has been considered as such, has resortedto magic rituals and celebrations of all kinds relating to the death or the ancestors, the earth or fertility and the stars or gods, in all cultures throughout the various stages of Humanity. Therites and gods always have the following duality:
Masculinity: the warrior, brute force, death. Lug are the Celta, the Greek Pan, the Christian Satan. If it was not depicted as a warrior it was like ananimal like the bull, the lion, eagle, etc..
The female fertility, creation and life. The Greek Aphrodite, Asarta Phoenicia, Phrygia Ma. If women had no way was then an animal like a cow, a steer orsimilar.
These two groups have been in constant rivalry for dominance, masculinity settling in the city (source of the productivity-industrial) and female in rural areas (where they are born and growthe fruits of the earth). That's why the first male monotheistic gods ruled the cities: Aton, Ahura Mazda, Jehovah ... and the popular classes (rural) women worshiped the fertility related: Isis,Mithra, Anaite.
IS NEAR THE END OF THE WORLD?
As happened a thousand years ago, the approaching end of the millennium provoked a wave of concern over the times ahead. For centuries there have beenmany who have been prophesying the end of the world, obviously all missed, but also had to be made smaller than predictions were fulfilled even centuries later, also predicted an end, "correct?
