Mark Twain
The Father of American Literature, Mark Twain, was born in November 30, 1835. At the age of four Twain’s move to Hannibal, Missouri which influenced his most well-known works which areThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Some of his more minimum works besides the previously mentioned are The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and OtherSketches, The Prince and the Pauper, and Roughing It. These works not only left behind aninsightful meaning for the readers at the time but left a legacy for those in today´s present and the future. AlthoughTwain is most well-known for his literary works there are other aspects of his life which are part of his influences like his intense interest in the scientific knowledge and his civil right beliefs.Florida Missouri was the beginning of Twain´s life but his literary works and life really started in Hannibal, the home of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Although many may think that his life waslike that of Sawyer´s in his books it wasn´t. At the age of eleven his father died leaving the family with economical instability. As a result he started working as an apprentice with a printer. But hedidn´t follow that career immediately, instead he became the master in a riverboat. Later, after failing at gold mining he went into journalism and thus started to impact literature in a permanentway, with his ideas and techniques.

Twain begin writing late, humorous verses that they became vanities hypocrisies and murderous acts of mankind, neverthelessTwain wrote pacifist stories like the“The War Prayer” These critics of his time where presented of his well-known techniques which is the use of colloquial diction. His firs important work to be published was “The Celebrated Jumping frogfrom Calaveras County”.
