The oil is used to treat rheumatic pain and, likeclove oil can be applied as an emergency treat ment to alleviate tooth ache, is al soused for digestive problems, dissolving a drop of honey.

1.- INTRODUCCION
El aceite de nuez moscada es obtenido por destilación de vapor de los granos de la fruta de Myristica fragans Houttayn, un árbol de15-20 metros dealtura, crece en Indonesia yen el Oeste indio. El aceite de nuez moscada consiste de aproximadamente 90% de hidrocarburos del terpeno. Los componentes mayores son sabinene, y elα-y β pinene. Unconstituyente mayor con contenido de oxígeno es el terpinen-4-ol. Una fracción constituyente de fenoles y éteres aromáticos como el safrole, myristicina, y elemicina es responsable por el característico olor dela nuez moscada.
El aceite de nuez moscada es usado en comida condimentada, y un menor grado en perfumería; es incoloro amarillento, contiene componentes como triglicéridos de los ácidos...
