I’m 24 years old. When I was 15 years old my dream was to get a tattoo but my mom didn’t let me get a tattoo until I was 18 years old. My mom said to do a tattoo is aresponsibility that I had to think through what I would paint in my body, because once I have got a tattoo done and there was no turning back, that I would have it for all my life and I had to choose somethingthat was meaningful to me. Also she said I have to made it in a part of my body that is not visible when I’m clothing, I asked her why and she said because some jobs do not accept some kind of tattoovisible, so to avoid some uncomfortable moments when I graduated and I’m trying to find a job don’t have any problem. What my mom told me at that time had a lot of sense so I thought it better and Itold myself that I was going to think well and would take into consideration that I had to tattoo something that meant something to me. So, those 3 years I thought everyday where I was going to get atattoo and what part of my body the tattoo could see better. Every day, I connect at the internet to see some tattoos and options of places to get one. I found some interesting tattoo and places but allof my options were Chinese characters or Chinese letter. “I want one tattoo that was unique that anybody has it” I thought in those days. I look for a tattoo that significant some religious to me. Isaid “what about if I translate the Spanish words to Chinese” that made sense for me. So, I translate at the computer “Espiritu de Dios” exactly what I wanted in Spanish to Chinese and to make sure Iwent to a Chinese’s friend to asked about if the translate was corrected. He said “yes” you choose a good letter. He said that the letter means protection, spirit and power. I was happy to hear thatand I couldn’t wait for my eighteen’s birthday and go to get the tattoo.
