Negative effect of obesity

Obesity it’s a common problem in modern cities. It’s defined as an excessive fat accumulation that presents risks to the health. But how do I know ifI’m an obese person? Doctor employ a body mass index (BMI) it’s a calculation between weight and height, so a person with a BMI equal or over 30 is considered overweight.

Most of thecauses of obesity are related to an excessive consumption of food rich in oil acid or junk food. Such as pizza, hamburger and ice cream also carbohydrate and sugar.

Obesity is apredisponent factor for a lot of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases (high blood pressure) it happens because fat acid usually adhere to arteries walls so the heart increase itslatency pumping faster to regulate the blood circulation. At last the high blood pressure could damage little arteries in the brain in other organs.

Also obesity is a predisponent factorfor diabetes because fat acid concentration in blood causes a steady diminution of insulin (a hormone specialized to transport glucose in blood) so less insulin means more glucose inblood and it’s exactly what diabetes is.

Finally, the better way to control and prevent the obesity is cutting back on oily and unhealthy food, work out frequently and eat vegetableand fruit. You can eat healthy food and result in obesity if you eat too much so to control obesity it’s necessary to have proportional control of food.Teacher: Nathaly Casado
