Advertisement is everywhere: in the newspaper, radio, television, etc. It is all an attempt to make you want tobuy the product being advertised. These different advertisements have different techniques. Some are visual, some are by hearing, and others have both sound and picture. Now a day it is more commonto see advertisement on television commercials. Still, newspaper articles are still read by people today, just not as much as before. Let us take these two advertisements and analyze how both havesimilar and different ways to attract our attention and luring us to buy their product.
I don’t normally read the newspaper but the advertisements sometimes do catch my attention when passing by someonewho’s actually reading the newspaper. The newspaper advertisement has exquisite pictures of the product, which are what catches one’s eye. To the side or under the picture there is an explanation ofwhat the product is, its name, and/or what it does. It also usually contains the product’s price. Sometimes it contains one or more coupons that can be used at the store to purchase the product a verygood way to get people to want to buy the product. The advertisement could also give a number to which you could call and see in what close by store the product can be purchased.
Now abouttelevision, I believe we all watch television at some point of the day. Even though we don’t like the commercials because they interrupt at a very intense point of our show, but we do enjoy them in some way.The advertisements in commercials have both great picture and sound. Most of the commercials have a short story told in them, some of which have nothing to do with the product being advertised. Many ofthese commercials have some catchy phrase or song that you unexpectedly repeat when you see the product in the store.
