Activity IX Graphical Analysis of the Constant Acceleration
Presence: 1 hour Non-Presence: 2 hours
In this activity you will perform and interpret a graph of accelerated motion using theconcepts of constant acceleration.
Instructions:
1. After solving the exercises of Constant Acceleration of your textbook, the questions and problems, guided by your teacher, you can perform the nextactivity. Read carefully the following text.
In the Monterrey Autodrome of Nuevo Leon, it was performed a special race of beetle drifting where the total path was 400 meters. A device measures thevelocity of the beetles modified each elapsed second. In the following table it is shown the velocities, second by second, of one of the beetles during the trajectory.

2. In individual way and using the information of the first 3 columns and with the help of the formulas of the constant acceleration, completethe others two columns (x= covered distance, a= acceleration).
3. In excel document or in a millimeter paper sheet, according to the indications of your teacher, do the graphs and answer thequestions that are requested.
a) Did the beetle move to constant or variable velocity? Why?
R= Variable velocity; because the acceleration is constant and the velocity is increasing.

b) What was the totaldistance that the beetle travelled in the first elapsed second, in the first four seconds, between the third and seventh second?
R= In the first 7 meters; In the 1. 7 2. 14 3. 21 4.28 ; Between thethird and the seventh are 28 meters.

c) Elaborate a graph position vs time (x vs t) with the data of the table (you can take as reference the following grid to do the graph.
