This lesson studies the specific vocabulary for Mathematics in English. It deals with specific topics such as the expresion of arithmetical operations, English terms to describe mathematicalsymbols and geometrical shapes, infinite series, the origins, development and branches of Mathematics, mathematical notation and mathematical challenges and discoveries.In addition to this, the lessonalso includes a section devoted to the practical revision a relevant grammar point. Thus, this section comprises a series of exercises on the use of the passive voice in English. The student shouldbear in mind that the use of the passive voice is characteristic of scientific and technical texts and discourse. A good command of the passive voice is, therefore, necessary in order to understand andexpress scientific and technical notions.
