What Pedagogy is?
Pedagogy is the study of being a teacher. This term refers to strategies of instruction, or a style of instruction, so it means the instructions you give to your students. This term is also occasionally referred as the correct use of instructive strategies, like a method of teaching, the instructor’s own philosophical beliefs of instruction are harbored and governed by thepupil’s back-ground knowledge and experience, situation and environment, as well as learning goals set by the student and teacher.
The Latin-derived word for pedagogy: child-instruction is in modern use in English to refer to the whole context of instruction, learning, and the actual operation involved therein, although both words have roughly the same original meaning. In English the termpedagogy is used to refer to instructive theory; trainee teachers learn their subject and also the pedagogy appropriate for teaching that subject. The introduction of information technology into schools has necessitated changes in pedagogy; teachers are adopting new methods of teaching facilitated by the new technology.
As we learned from Pedagogia General Critica Book, this science also has differentmeanings, this is other I read: Pedagogy it’s the science or art of teaching. Some sociologists of education use the term ‘pedagogical practices’ with reference to the methods and principles that inform educational techniques, and make a distinction between the expressed pedagogy, and his or her observed pedagogy in practice. The former may be liberal (or ‘progressive’), emphasizing the needs andautonomy of the individual child, whereas the latter may be conservative (aimed at preserving the authority and expertise of the teacher as a professional). This distinction is therefore analogous to that between the formal and hidden curriculum. These theories suggest that students must engage in learning tasks that require inquiry, experimentation, and active engagement in real-world problemsolving. Moreover, the translation of theory into classroom practice depends heavily on how well individual teachers understand the theories they were taught and how they put them into practice.
Relationship between Pedagogy and Education
Pedagogy, this term is also referred to Education, which I understand is a physical and mental ability of an individual person to learn new things. In itstechnical sense education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulate knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. Education was first, and then Pedagogy was born to study, analyze and explore this amazing subject.
We will talk about teachers, school, schooling, and will use this terms because they are part of the Pedagogy. Teachers in educationalinstitutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history.
This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as thoserequired to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, such as in museums and libraries, with the Internet and in life experience. Many non-traditional education options are now available and continue to evolve.
• Contemporary pedagogy has as its fundamental contributions extending the concept of education. Throughout the history of each one of these, youcan see that go hand in hand, that is, education has taken a major social projection together with the development of pedagogy.
• The more comprehensive the concept of education, teaching by his side reached their own domain. While education is getting better and goes beyond the lake of history with the social and cultural context which conditions, pedagogy proceeds equally.
