Simple present
Is the word of this (and not perfective character) expressing standard action, i.e. habits, routines in everyday life. The difference of the presente perfecto where the latter looks perfective character, and the presente continuo in this progressive another look.

Present progressive
present progressive is formed by combining the verb "to be" with the present participle. (The present participle is merely the "-ing" form of a verb.)
This tense follows the same pattern as the present progressive (see above) . The gerunds are the same. The only thing that changes is the form of ESTAR that is used. In the pastprogressive, that tense is usually the imperfect.

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
MEANING
present progressive is formed by combining the verb "to be" with the present participle. (The present participle is merely the "-ing" form of a verb.)

The present progressive is composed of the verb "to be" verb and a special called gerund (Gerund). The gerund is usually formed by adding-ing at the end of the verb.
El Presente Progresivo se utiliza para describir actividades que se desarrollan en el presente.
Algunos verbos nunca se utilizan en Presente Progresivo y sólo se lo hace enel Presente Simple. Algunos ejemplos se ven en la tabla a continuacion.
Todas las oraciones que utilizan "to be" pueden ser convertidas en una pregunta llevándolo al principio de esta oracion.
Cuando los verbos están unidos, el primer verbo indica el tiempo. La segunda forma es un infinitivo (infinitive) que consiste en la preposición ‘para’ y la forma principal del verbo. Los verbos confrecuencia se identifican por la forma del infinitivo: 'to be', 'to hate', etc.

It is also used to describe trends or situations that are happening but may be temporary.
For example:
"Nowadays more and more people are shopping on the Internet."
...and habitual actions (usually negative).
For example:
"He's always cleaning his car."...
