PRESENTE Y PASADO CONTINUO


• PRESENTE CONTINUO: (Continuous present) tiempo verbal que expresa acciones del presente pero con ciertos matices que lo diferencian del presente simple. Es untiempo verbal que se utiliza para expresar acciones que tienen lugar en el presente, en el mismo momento en el que se está enunciando la frase. El Presente Continuo se forma con el presente del verbo(to) be más el verbo de la acción en gerundio (Infinitivo + ing).

A partir de esta tabla se ve cómo se forma este tiempo verbal.

Oraciones afirmativas: Sujeto + Verbo to be en presente (am, is, are) + Verbo en ing+ Complemento.
John is washing the dishes.
They are washing the dishes.

Oraciones negativas: Sujeto + Verbo to be en presente (am, is, are) + not + Verbo en ing + Complemento.
John is notwashing the dishes.
They are not washing the dishes.

Oraciones interrogativas: Verbo to be en presente (am, is, are) + Sujeto + Verbo en ing + Complementos?
Is John washing the dishes?
Are theywashing the dishes?
