STAINING IN TEETH

Introduction
Teeth are structures in the mouth intended for use in breaking down food for consumption. Teeth are naturally white or off-white in color,but build-up from foods and drinks such as coffee and tea over time can stain the white color and turn teeth yellowish and discolored. In this experiment, we'll use egg shells in order toexplore how teeth are stained by drinking coffee, Coke Cola, Fanta and Fruit Punch Gatorade.

Hypothesis
We supposed that coffee will stain the eggs that represent teeth more than the otherdrinks. But we think that the first one staining the eggs would be Gatorade.

Objective
Find how long does it take to the drinks stain your teeth and which of the drinks tested stain yourteeth the most.

Materials
* Eggs
* Bowl
* Knitting Needles
* Four Plastic Bottles or Jars
* Pepsi Cola
* Coffee
* Fanta
* Fruit Punch Gatorade
*Permanent Marker

Procedure
1. Wash and dry the eggs.
2. With the needle start doing, carefully a small hole on the eggs.
3. When the small hole is done, push the needle into thehole and try to break the yolk.
4. Hold the egg over a bowl with the small end down until all the egg comes out.
5. Wash the empty egg shell pouring a thin stream of water into thehole. Blow out the water from the empty egg shell and let it dry with the hole facing down.
6. Fill the four separate plastic jars/bottles with coke cola, coffee, fanta and fruit punch.Label each jar/bottle with the respective drinks.
7. Put the hollowed egg-shell into each container.
8. Observe them everyday and take notes to compare the effects of the fourdrinks.

Conclusion
The hypothesis that Coffee will leave the most stains on our teeth has not been proven to be true; instead, Pepsi Cola caused the most discoloration and Fanta the less.
