1.Aims and Nature of the Examination
The central theme in the examination topics is to look at the contemporary world and Japan from the perspective of multicultural understanding. The aims are to determine that internationalstudents have basic knowledge of contemporary Japan deemed necessary in order to study at a higher education institution in Japan, and to evaluate how students are capable of thinking logically and critically about basic problems in modern international society.

23. Purpose of the Examination
24. The purpose of this examination is to test whether students from other countries have thebasic scholastic ability in math considered necessary for studying at the undergraduate level at a Japanese university.
There are two courses. Course 1 is for undergraduate faculties and departments for which a basic knowledge of math is considered sufficient. Course 2 is for undergraduate faculties and departments for which math is very important.
