Reflection on The Hunger Games
I found this book so immensely interesting. I love it. It has become one of my favorite books. I had never enjoyed a reading that way; it was another experience. To beemerged in that world witch I had never imagined and to study the themes and messages with in the book on class was an eye opener for me; that took it to another level. Before reading the book I hadalready seen the movie.
As a result, I thought that it was going to be boring because I knew what was going to happen. But in spite of that, it didn’t affect me what so ever. Because as I read, itwas like something very new, as if I hadn’t seen the movie. And in the reading I could understand and see many things crystal clear. In the movie I hadn’t notice how much everything revolves or it’s aconsequence of the governmental system existed in Panem and even how much it can be related to us nowadays.
That was what I most enjoyed, to see how much we can relate many aspects or themes presentin the story to our daily lives. The theme that has to do with politics, or better said the government control of the society, is something very present in this novel. Thru the entire book we see itand it’s the reason of the reaping, the cruel game, poverty and more. The government has an incredible power over the different districts to avoid another rebellion. They control the food, supplies,freedom and basically the entire life of the society. They did it manipulating the citizens with fear, prison, death, hunger, the horrible game and the use of force. And if we take a closer look tothese aspects and reflect on our world we can see many of them in some way or another on our planet, our civilization.

For example, the strike force or riot police in our modern world are designed torepress people’s expressions. By the use of force, they control and impart fear among everyone. Aah…and isn’t that similar to the function of the peacemakers in the novel? But as I was saying, the...
