RESUMEN

Objetivos: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y su relación con las actitudes hacia el examen de Papanicolaou en mujeres de 15 a 49 años ATENDIDAS EN EL CENTRO DE SALUD MADRE TERESA DE CALCUTA SETIEMBRE - DICIEMBRE 2012
METODOLOGÍA: El presente trabajo es de tipo cuantitativo, nivel aplicativométodo descriptivo y de corte transversal. Se utilizo como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento de recolección de datos un cuestionario, el cual fue aplicado a 20 mujeres de 15 a 49 años concluyendo que el nivel de conocimientos y su relación con las actitudes sobre el examen de Papanicolaou es en su mayoría medio y alto.
RESULTADO: Se entrevistaron a 20 mujeres, 35% y 40% tuvieron de nivelalto y medio de conocimiento respectivamente; 80% actitud favorable. Mientras que el 24% tuvieron un nivel bajo de conocimiento con un 7% de actitud desfavorable.
CONCLUSIÓN: Por el presente estudio podemos concluir que cerca de la mitad de la población tiene un nivel de conocimiento media y una actitud favorable frente al examen de Papanicolaou.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge and the regarding attitudes the Papanicolaou test in women from 15 to 49 years attending Health Center Mother Teresa September – December 2012
Methodology: This study is a quantitative, descriptive method and application level cross section. Technique was used as an instrument survey and data collection a questionnaire, whichwas applied to 20 women aged 15 to 49 years and concluded that the level of knowledge and its relationship to attitudes about the Pap test is mostly half and high.
RESULTS: We interviewed 20 women, 35% and 40% had high level of knowledge and a half respectively, 80% favorable attitude. While 24% had a low level of knowledge with a 7% unfavorable attitude.
CONCLUSION: In the present study we canconclude that about half of the population has a knowledge level mean and a favorable attitude to the Pap test.
