The roles and functions that are attributed to men and women in marriage are learned in the home of origin and cultural context in which we grew up. Both men and women can cometo marriage with predetermined expectations of what will be their role as spouse and with their children. Therefore, it is very important to confront these expectations with your partner, since thelack of consistency at this point can cause conflict in marriage.
  The first thing to say here is that there are no default roles for husband and wife in married life. Each partner must assess theroles and outlook you have against your spouse and accustomed to the real needs of the couple. Traditionally, and especially in Latin mentality, man was defined as the provider of everything needed andthe woman as they must stay at home, in charge of childcare and house chores. As a result, the man learned that he didn’t have house responsibilities or had to take care of their children, becausethese were "women's things."
The woman on the other hand, accepted that she had to take care of her husband. That encouraged a very sharp division between male and female activities within the marriagerelationship and brought an imbalance unhealthy marriage. This is the same circumstance that is presented on “Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin and “A Doll House” by Henrik Ibsen, where in both storieswomen are seen as a housekeeper only; they are entitled to do the house chores and take care of their children meanwhile their husband are the ones who works and support the house.

Today, on thecontrary, society recognizes that men and women participate equally in the workforce outside the home and housework. At the same time, men are realizing that they must help evenly in household choreswhich were traditionally assigned to women.
The reason that the woman is naturally better equipped to perform certain tasks at home does not mean that the man can’t do them too. Each partner must...
