INFORMATION FOR INITIAL APPLICATION

Welcome to the SENTRI Dedicated Commuter Lane Program. The following information is provided to assist you in the application process.

Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The SENTRI enrollment application forms may be downloaded from our website at: www.cbp.gov, application form CBP 823-S.

Application for the DCL Program is a two-step process. After obtaining the Application Form, initial appointments are accepted on a walk-in basis provided all requireddocuments are presented during the initial interview.

Step 1: Initial Interview.
For submission of the DCL Application Form, CBP-823-S, at the DCL Enrollment Center during the initial appointment, Form CBP 823S must be completely filled out prior to the applicant’s arrival at the Enrollment Center. The applicant must also provide originals and a copy of the following documents at that time.Applications will only be accepted between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

1. Evidence of Citizenship – Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, or Naturalization Certificate.
2. Valid Passport/Visa or other entry document, if applicable.
3. Evidence of Lawful Permanent Residence in the U.S., if applicable.
4. Valid Driver’s License issued by the state in which you reside.
5. CurrentVehicle Registration (not Vehicle Title) and evidence of U.S. automobile insurance – if the vehicle is not registered in the name of the applicant, a notarized letter authorizing its use by the applicant is needed. Vehicles registered in Mexico must be covered by an insurance policy written by a company authorized to write motor vehicle liability insurance in Texas.
6. Evidence of Employmentor Financial Support for the last 6 months.
7. Evidence of Residence – mortgage or rent payment receipts and utility bills.

A non-refundable $25 application fee and $24 fingerprint fee are required at the initial interview. Copies of all documents are required, and an applicant file will be created. Upon completion of the interview, any applicant 14 years and older will befingerprinted. The applicant is then given a final appointment date upon completion of his/her initial interview.

Step 2: Final Interview
The applicant will return on the final appointment date, during which the vehicle will be inspected and a transponder will be issued. All vehicles must conform to the required maximum wheel base length of 142 inches and maximum height of 75 inches. A final systemcosts fee of $80 will be due at the second interview. Upon successful completion of the application process and the vehicle inspection, each applicant will be enrolled in the DCL system and issued a portpass. Each applicant must be physically present at the Enrollment Center for the final interview. Should there be a situation in which minor children under the age of 18 will be enrolled asparticipants without their parents/legal guardians, the parent or legal guardian must accompany the minor applicant during all steps of the application process.

** Failure to disclose any arrests OR convictions, immigration/ customs and/or agriculture violations, will result in a denial of your application without any opportunity of appeal.

Application fee: $25/ person (Adultsand minors)
Fingerprint fee: $24 (persons 14 yrs. and older)
System Costs fee: $80/ person (or a maximum of $160 total for husband, wife, and/or minor child)
