He is the one that controls the computers and thus administers to the services and their functions like also the execution of other compatible programs with this. Exampleof families of operating systems is: Windows, UNIX, Linux, Two, Mac OS, etc. An operating system allows to interact with the channel hardware of computers, telephones, cellular, PDA’s, etc. and toexecute compatible programs in these. It allows to control the allocations of the memory, to order the requests to the system, to control the input devices and exit, facilitates the connection to networksand the handling of archives
Basic characteristics of the computer:
In computers the operative system starts the function when the BIOS work ends, and when you star or restart the computer. Theoperating systems own an interface that can be graphic (GUI) or of text (line of commando). The operating systems form a platform so that other systems or utilize it to applications, those applicationsthat allow to be executed. In multiple operating systems it’s called multiplatform. Also they must take safety measures in computer security that before do not exist in theoperating systems; the main danger comes from the networks like Internet.
