Health and Safety Policy SRK places the highest importance on safety and is committed to ensuring that all work by our staff is carried out in a safe manner. We make our Health & Safety Policy meaningful by: • • • • Requiring our consulting practices todevelop and implement health and safety management programs At a minimum, ensuring that our work is carried out in accordance with applicable government and client standards Providing appropriate levels of safety training and certification for our staff Monitoring health and safety performance across the SRK organization

SAFETY AROUND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT & APPLIANCESPresented by Peter Rosewarne of the SRK ZA Cape Town Office Within a space of a week there were two accidents with fatalities reported in the Cape Town press involving unexpected activation of equipment whilst workers were carrying out maintenance. In an SRK office kitchen incident, someone recently inserted a metal knife into a live toaster to retrieve a piece of stuck toast, thereby risking becomingtoast themselves. Lessons to be learned from these incidents for the work site, office and home: • • Always disconnect electrical equipment before performing any maintenance work or attempting to fix problems Ensure that equipment so disabled cannot suddenly become live again: o Alert fellow workers or family members to what is going on o Use lock-out, tag-out procedures to prevent others frominadvertently switching on disabled equipment, with possibly fatal consequences o Assign a colleague to “man” the control area for power if it is remote from where you are working Make sure live cables and/or equipment are clearly marked if power cannot be switched-off to work area Carry out a risk assessment so that potentially dangerous situations can be identified and mitigated

Safety is vital tothe ultimate success of our business. Remember that no job is so important that we cannot take the time to complete it safely.

Applicability to SRK’s scope of work includes: • • • Immobilize excavation equipment whilst working in test pits/trenches Immobilize nearby machinery whist working in confined spaces Clear borehole and test pit areas to avoid drilling into a live cableRemember to take similar care outside of the office so your home projects are safely performed.

June 2011 Visit to Iron Project in Shangdong Province Commissioned by a Hong Kong listed company, SRK conducted a due diligence review for an iron mine project in Shandong province, China. During the site visit, the SRK project team visited theunderground mine, processing plant, administration building, TSF and infrastructure facilities.
