Are We an Equal Society?

America is not a colorblind society for manyreasons. One of them is the Criminal Justice; it is a system with prejudice and racial profiling, for this reason the numbers of sentenced prisoners are more Blacks and Latinos than Whites. Theemployment is another problem this society has to face; employees are chosen by their color, race, culture, class or even gender. Usually, people are associated with specific work based on theirappearance, and there is an income inequality. And last, but not least, is individual initiative; people are afraid to change and to open their minds; when there is intolerance, and the society is notreceptive to other points of view, the result is going to make differences bigger and bigger in our country.
One of them is the Criminal Justice; it is a system with prejudice and racial profiling, forthis reason the numbers of sentenced prisoners are more Blacks and Latinos than Whites. In the first place, the 60 percent of U.S. prisoners are Blacks and Ethnic Minorities; there are 6.318 Blacksand 2.694 Latinos and only 975 Whites in their twenties in Federal Prisons. Also, there are many cases when the police stop a car only by a racial profiling. A 24 year old, African American studentsaid that he got pulled over for no reasons and a women from Milwaukee, revealed that her friend and she was once stopped for nothing, the cop said he thought their tail light was out but they all knowit was not. Finally, ever since President Obama was elected; there is a record-high deportation based on color, appearance and accent, not on their criminal record, like everyone said. The number ofimmigrants deported since 2007 has increased since 116.719 to 396.906.
