RESUMEN

El objetivo de esta tesis consistió en diagnosticar y evaluar las dificultades del
habla en niños/as y adolecentes de 7 a 18 años con Discapacidad Intelectual
de los Centros de Educación Especial Agustín Cueva Tamariz, Centro Piloto de
Integración del Azuay, Adinea, San José de Calasánz, durante el período 2012.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, para determinarla frecuencia de los
trastornos del habla en un universo de 249 niños y adolescentes de entre 7 y
18 años, que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión y exclusión y que aceptaron
voluntariamente ingresar al estudio.

Para su elaboración se realizó una evaluación logopédica a través de los test
de Articulación que evalúa el nivel articulatorio y los procesos de simplificación
fonológica; el Test deMecanismo Oral Periférico que valora los aspectos
funcionales y los elementos interventores del aparato fonador; una valoración
de la disfemia (tartamudez) para ver la fluidez verbal del sujeto; y, una ficha de
observación y entrevista personal enfocada al registro de conductas de cada
paciente.

La dislalia fue el trastorno del habla más frecuente con un 82,2 %, con
predomino del género masculinocon un 63,1%. Las edades entre los 10 y 12
años presentaron mayor prevalencia de trastornos del habla con un 36,2%; y,
que estos trastornos se presentaron en niños con antecedentes familiares de
dificultades del habla en un porcentaje del 19%.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this thesis was to diagnose and evaluate speech difficulties in
children and youth 7-18 years with intellectual disabilities from special education
centers Agustin Cueva Tamariz, Integration Pilot Center of Azuay, Adinea, San
Jose de Calazan.

A descriptive study was conducted, to determine thefrequency of speech
disorders in a universe of 249 children and young people between 7 and 18
years, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and who volunteered to
enter the study.

The test of Articulation was applied that had an objective to evaluate the
articulator level and the presence of some phonological simplification processes
in children or patients; the Test of Oral Mechanism Periphery todetermine if
there were problems in the structure or functioning of the speech mechanism.
An assessment of stuttering to see the subject's verbal fluency, and an
observation sheet and interview behaviors focused record of each patient.

The dislalia is the most common speech disorder with 82.2%, a higher
percentage of speech disorders was found between the ages of 10-12 years,
with 36.2% whilethe largest percentage of the gender is found in the male
gender with 63.1%, with the lowest female gender percentage with 36.8%.
The majority of speech disorders in children and youth whose parents have only
primary instruction with 44.1% in the case of parents and 55.2%, in the case of
mothers.
