SISTEMA DE GESTIÓN AMBIENTAL ISO 14001 ENINSTITUCIONES EDUCATIVAS DE NIVEL SUPERIOR DEL PERÚ

Resumen El objetivo fue evaluar en qué medida los altos Directivos de las Instituciones Educativas de nivel superior del Perú, asumen un compromiso en el enriquecimiento ambiental de los currículos de estudio y aplican buenas prácticas ambientales.

Asimismo, detectar los impactos ambientales que se generan en el campus universitario oinstitución educativa y finalmente, elaborar una propuesta de Política Ambiental para el caso de la UNFV. Se realizó una encuesta de veinte preguntas a docentes y estudiantes del 4to y 5to año de las facultades de ingeniería de 16 universidades y once Institutos Superiores, tanto de Lima como de otras Regiones del Perú, en el caso de Lima fueron veinte encuestas por universidad o instituto y en el caso deprovincias cinco por institución y en estos últimos mediante el correo electrónico. Encontramos que ninguna de las instituciones encuestadas cuenta con un Sistema de Gestión Ambiental ISO 14001, la capacitación mediante seminarios en estos temas en las universidades es de dos a tres durante los últimos años en un 60 % de ellas, mientras que en los institutos superiores la respuesta fue ningunacapacitación en el 50% de ellas. La mayoría conoce las Normas ISO 9001de calidad, medianamente las ISO 14001 de medio ambiente y sólo el 20% las Normas OSHAS sobre seguridad. Se concluye que siguiendo la Experiencia de SENATI, las Instituciones Educativas de Nivel Superior del Perú podrían lograr la certificación en las Normas ISO 14001si establecen una Política Ambiental, capacitación yambientalización de los currículos de estudio. ISO 14001 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN PERUVIAN HIGHER-EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The objective consisted in evaluate in which measure the boards of directors of Peruvian higher education institutionsassume their responsibility to enrich the curricula and apply good environmental practices. Also, to detect the environmental impacts which are generated in campus life and finally, to elaborate a proposal of environmental policy for the UNFV. It was carried out a survey of twenty questions to teachers and students of fourth and fifth years of the engineering faculties of sixteen universities andeleven higher education institutes, from Lima and other Peruvian regions. In the case of Lima there were twenty surveys per university or institute and in the case of the provinces five surveys per institution by e-mail. We found that none of the surveyed institutions has an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and the training by seminars in these themes in the universities is from two to threein the last years in a 60% of them whereas in higher education institutes the answer was none in the 50% of them. In majority, the ISO 9001 norms of quality are well known, partly the ISO 14001 of environmental norms and only the 20% of the OSHAS norms of security. We conclude that following the experience of SENATI, the higher-education institutions in Peru could acquire the certification ISO14001 if it´s established an environmental policy, training and environmentalization of the curricula giving the possibility to mitigate the polluting focal points.
