Since I’ve arrived to Taiwan the 10th of February, I have not stopped to see contrasts everywhere comparing to the Spanish culture.
As a Spaniard, son of Andalusian father and Catalan mother, grown into a bilingual and multicultural atmosphere, the Chinese culture has entered to my life as something new and impressive. Why such a different contrast? It’s just about the weather? It’s also becauseof the language? It’s because of the cities? Probably a sum of everything, but the most important thing it’s because of the culture of the people. The Chinese society, specially the Taiwanese has grown under different philosophies that has been the key of their success as a society. That is the main point that differentiates the westerns cultures from the Asian. The education under some valuesinstilled such as the Confucism, Daoism and Buddhism.

But, how Chinese culture is seen from our Spanish perspective?

"What happens is that the Chinese in Spain are a young population, so there are few deaths. In addition, many are buried in China. Topics like this are spurious result of ignorance.

They came with the Republic
There are grocery stores inChina in all Spanish cities, but this commercial presence does not translate into familiarity in dealing with the Spanish. Conversations rarely go beyond a "you have cold beer" or "I take a milk carton." However, the Chinese are not newcomers. The first contingent of Chinese immigrants arrived in Spain in the distant days of the Second Republic. Since the 1970s, and in parallel to economicdevelopment, there were new arrivals.

Spain should be attractive to many Chinese because although, like most immigrants, they look when they leave their home country are economic opportunities, the crisis hitting Spain harder than other European countries, has prevented the influx of Chinese continue to increase.
