The Scarlet Letter

Do you agree or disagree with Hester returning to her hometown after Pearl married?
In the novel Scarlet Letter one of the characters was Hester Prynne. Hester is the main character and she ispresented since the beginning of the story as a sinner woman. The truth is she is in fact a sinner, because Hester committed adultery. Her punishment was that she has to wear the letter “A” in her chestfor the rest of her life. As a strong woman, Hester accepts her punishment with no complaints at all. Because of this she had to depart from her normal life and start a new one full of shame and agony.At the end of the story she do something stupid, she came back to her hometown to continue her punishment. Consequently I disagree with Hester decision.
In a town full of puritan people, no onewanted to have anything to do with a woman that breaks the laws of the colony. Seven years later she realized that she have two choices, like in real life. She could choose leave the town, make a realfamily with the man that she loves and her daughter and be extremely happy or stay in the town and continue living her horrible torture. In my opinion, if I was in Hester’s shoes I would have decidedto go away from the town, start a new life and be really happy. Finally she decides to go away from the town but not with the man she loves so much, because he dies the same day that he revealed thathe was the father of Hester daughter. Now she was free and happy. She could stop wearing the scarlet letter and be around the society without being judge. She could leave the town and do her life andbe really happy. A new freedom awaits her to do everything like a normal person. But she has this stupid ideas that if she wants to die and be with the heavenly father she needed to clean her soul,but could not find a way to clean it. She didn’t find another better way of cleaning her soul. She came back to her hometown to continue wearing the scarlet letter. Like if to re-live those years of...
