BACKGROUND
Human trafficking is an ancient phenomenon that only since the past two decades has been coming to light. In other words, we face an old problem with a new name.
During colonial times women and girls, particularly African and indigenous people were uprooted from their places of origin and traded as labor, servitude and / or as sex objects. However, the question, as a socialproblem, began to be recognized only in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, through so-called "White Slave Traffic," a concept that was used to refer to mobility and trade white women, European and American, to serve as prostitutes or concubines usually Arab, African or Asian. At that moment came the first hypotheses about these movements were the result of kidnapping, deception andcoercion on innocent and vulnerable women for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
Now anyone can be a victim of trafficking, that is why today we call human trafficking, for anyone, men, women, children, young people can be victims of any type of trafficking.

CONCEPT

Human trafficking, sometimes, involves the element of migration –internal or international-and also implies a particularsituation if vulnerability. The result is to be taken to perform work or forced service in homes, farms, brothels, factories and streets.

The definition of trafficking used in this report is based on Article 3 of the Protocol against trafficking persons from the UN.

“Human Trafficking means the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by whatever means, for forcedlabor or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs”.

Many Central Americans arrivewith the idea of continuing his trip to the United States or any city in northern or central Mexico and lack of economic resources remain in the border area. At this point, there are more vulnerability to fall into networks of traffickers who use their economic needs and their irregular immigration status.

The results of migration and the possibility for treatment depend on the degree ofvulnerability of the victims. Therefore, a key to plan and carry out actions of prevention and prosecution of human trafficking is to identify which groups are most vulnerable or most at risk of being treated.
