Introduction
In the last decade Colombia has increasingly become a more attractive destinationfor tourists. People from other countries have started coming more often because they see beauty that can’t be found elsewhere. According to statistics for 2010 Colombia’s Tourist Arrivals were 1,474,884 people, 8,9% more than in 2009.[1] Out of these 1,474,884 people 754,960 ended their travels in Bogotá. Places like Usaquén, Zona T and La Candelaria, to many Bogotanos’ surprise, are filled withforeign tourists and even residents. From Americans to Indians, Peruvians to South Africans, tourists are going to various places that even natives, social studies teachers and people who have lived their whole lives in Bogotá have never been to. Bogotá is currently experiencing a boom in tourism and needs to exploit the situation as much as possible because it is a fleeting opportunity that mightnot be present in the future. Bogotá is still growing used to having significant amounts of tourists, since it was usually at the bottom of tourism rankings both worldwide and in Latin America. Even though we have come a long way other cities keep on improving their appeals and Bogotá could be relegated to the bottom of the tourists’ priorities once again. For this reason we decided to investigatethe appeal of eight cities, four in Latin American and four in Europe, so we could analyze what are the main aspects that attract tourists. In the end this information could be applied to Bogotá so that we can develop our tourism continually and eventually expand our tourism industry so that it is equal or even greater to that of Latin American and European cities.
The main purpose of thisproject is to find a way to make Bogotá a very touristic city and to promote the city at a global scale so that us Colombians have a reason to say that Bogotá is a great place for foreigners to come and explore. After doing this, one branch of the project will be to get the school to open a class that’s focused on Bogotá and its main features so that students taking it can be able to experiencewhat it’s like to be a tourist guide, learning about the city and also helping a vast number of people in the community.

Procedure
In order to being researching foreign cities and comparing them to Bogotá we will first need to get to know Bogotá’s main attractions. Recently, newspapers, magazines and celebrities have highlighted Bogotá’s culture, food, festivals and parks. We have decided to actually visit these sites to see why they appeal to tourists and what could be improved in each of them. Also it is important to check Bogotá’s tourist website so that we can compare it to other cities’ pages and keep up to date with what is going on here.
Mateo’s research will be based on the cities Barcelona, Rome, Berlin and London. On the otherhand, Sofia’s research will be based in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Cusco and Mexico City. In the end, this is all done for the purpose of knowing what can be added or changed so that the tourist sector improves noticeably for in Bogotá in the near future. Regarding the cities being investigated, we decided that we would distribute the work in the following manner: Sofia is going...
