What is a change you wouldlike to see in the world? Why?
A Better World
Is there any chance that one day we could live in the world we have always dreamed of? A world where all people are treated with respect, a world withless racial hatred, a world of freedom of expression and religion, a world less indolent and indifferent are the characteristics of a world that exists only in our dreams. Through history, intolerancehas been the cause of the greatest atrocities in the world. It has been the cause of wars, tortures, and even deaths. A marked increase of active tolerance which means an active approach for therecognition of universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of others is a change that I would like to see in the world.
In an increasingly globalized world in which societies arebecoming more diverse, tolerance is essential for living. Tolerance is what allows us to live in harmony in a country with people of different religions, who support other political tendencies, whichhave a different sexual condition, etc. In addition to the quote, "live and let live”, the tolerance that should be promoted is one that is active and leads to solidarity. The active tolerance should beseen as the interest in understanding others, and help them pursue their life projects without receiving anything in return. In order to live in a better world, our mission is to help promotetolerance in ourselves, in our families, in schools, in the workplace, and in the community.
The nuclear family is the first place to learn values. The family is where the most sacred values that are closelylinked with tolerance such as respect, dignity, freedom, solidarity are first developed.
