ANÁLISIS Y RESULTADOS SOBRE EL USO DE LA TELEFONÍA IP EN LAS
PYMES DE CARTAGENA, BOLÍVAR - COLOMBIA

RESUMEN
En la ciudad de Cartagena, Colombia, existe un mercado tecnológico que se puede considerar todavía virgen, teniendo en cuenta
que la mayoría del producto interno bruto de la ciudad depende de las pequeña y medianas empresas situadas en ella. Uno de
estos mercados es el de la Telefonía IP.Realizando un ejercicio de investigación, donde el principal propósito fue identificar
cuantas PYMES en la ciudad han implementado en su infraestructura de comunicación la telefonía IP y comprobar que tanto
conocimiento se tiene al respecto de esta tecnología y como estas empresas dentro de sus áreas de TI visualizan la utilización de
este servicio, buscando así dar indicios de viabilidad deproyectos este sector dentro de la ciudad. Para dar cumplimiento a este
objetivo, se planteó una investigación de tipo descriptivo, utilizando la encuesta como técnica de recolección de información para
el análisis de la situación real y actual de la telefonía IP en diferentes sectores empresariales. Con los resultados obtenidos se
pretende dar a conocer el estado real de esta tecnología en la ciudady proponer estrategias que permitan la incorporación de la
misma en las PYMES.

ANALYSIS AND RESULTS ON THE USE OF IP TELEPHONY BY SMES IN
CARTAGENA, BOLIVAR – COLOMBIA
ABSTRACT
In the city of Cartagena, Colombia, there is a technology market that can be considered still as intact, considering thatmost of the
GDP of the city depends on small and medium enterprises based there. This market is IP Telephony. Conducting a research
exercise, where the main purpose was to identify which SMEs in the city of Cartagena, Colombia, implement in its communication
structure IP telephony. In order to fulfill this objective, we used a descriptive research, using surveys as data collection technique
forthe analysis of the real and current situation of IP telephony in these companies. The companies which supported this research
were 91 SMEs selected by using the statistical technique called simple random sampling, to systematize the information the web
application MyPymeIP was developed, it allows you entering the information collected from surveys and displaying the results with
statisticalhistograms. This allowed representing results graphically, verifying that the 100% of the SMEs surveyed have telephone
service and that most of them pay a high cost, only for local call service, since many of them do not have additional services (such
as national, international and mobile phone calls, call waiting, Internet, caller ID, etc.). From the above results, only 12% of
surveyed SMEs useIP telephony and 88% would like to have many of the services offered by this tool, which shows that the IP
solution would be well received by most of SMEs in the city of Cartagena.
