OBJETIVO DE LA PRUEBA.
Esta prueba permiteconocer la consistencia de los materiales asfálticos mediante sus características de flujo a una temperatura de 135°C para los cementos, de 25 y 50°C para las emulsiones y de 50 y 60°C para los asfaltos rebajados, pudiéndose hacer a otras temperaturas, con el propósito de estudiar la susceptibilidad al calor de los materiales asfálticos y determinar las viscosidades apropiadas para su utilización.
Laprueba consiste en determinar el tiempo que tardan en pasar 60 cm³ del material a probar a través de un orificio Furol, instalado en un tubo de viscosidad Saybolt, bajo condiciones de carga y temperatura preestablecidas.
