Halloween is a celebration that most of the American and puertorican families celebrate. This day comes from thousands of years ago. In my opinion I think most people do it justbecause mom and dad celebrate it I will keep the tradition (meme). Like in my house, they don’t even know the story of this long tradition.

On this day (October 31) people use different types ofcostumes, spider webs, ugly pumpkins, zombies, ghost, graves and other scary things and kids go to your house scare you and you give them candy. What I think is crazy, is that usually we don’t like the stuffused that day, like spider webs and graves. Who wants to have a cemetery in their yard? Parties are done; even in some of our kid’s school promote this celebration. But I bet most people don’t knowthe true story and where it comes from. That is what makes me curious of this video. Like in the video is told, people think this comes from EEUU when it really comes from a tribe of Holland. There arelots of different stories about the origin of this celebration like is the day of the dead’s in some places (this was even accepted by the church but then they refuse). Is been said is a day spiritscome out and scare people and many other things. There is even a story of the witches, they where woman’s judge because they where healers (curanderas) they might be heal by oral traditions and to thereligious people this wasn’t right and then they started cursing them. Any object uses by a woman like the broom was consider an icon.

For me nowadays is use to accomplish their fantasies of usingthe costume they cannot use in a normal day and to front fears of things they might be afraid. The name of this celebration translated from their language is All Hallows Day and the night before isAll Hallows Eve and that is where the word Halloween comes from.
