Fuel Filter Element (ATA 73) Inspection and Replacement 1.0 EFFECTIVITY Honeywell International (AlliedSignal, Garrett)TFE731 and TPE331 engines, which have the following Purolator Facet Fuel Filter Element Part Number 038493-12 installed. Fuel filter elements with an assembly date code of A3Q05, A4Q05 or A1Q06 onthe package (carton) label (see below). Affected P/Ns produced with the affected date codes were made available from July 1, 2005 to June 6, 2006. Package label with date codes: A3Q05, A4Q05 or A1Q06This filter element is an FAA-PMA Approved replacement for Honeywell part number 897513-1 and is approved for installation on the Honeywell TPE331 and TFE731 series engines. 2.0 REASON PurolatorFacet, Inc. has determined filter elements identified as Purolator Facet Inc. P/N: 038493-12 with the assembly date listed in Section 1.0 above, may exhibit a small circumferential crack in the closedendcap.

3.0 DESCRIPTION The intent of this Service Bulletin follows: To provide for instructions toinspect for a circumferential crack in the closed endcap of the fuel filter element and to provide further instructions dependant on findings. 4.0 COMPLIANCE Section 11.0(a) and 11.0(b) of this ServiceBulletin is MANDATORY and shall be accomplished prior to next flight. 5.0 APPROVAL The technical contents of this Service Bulletin are FAA approved. 6.0. MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS Work Phase Inspection AndReplacement Of The Fuel Filter Element Removal And Cleaning Of The Fuel Control Filter (IF REQUIRED) If additional maintenance is required see the Honeywell Inc.
