Anne Frank Biography
The world will never forget Anne Frank’s words that she left behind; this young teen detailed the causes of the Second World War and how it affected the Jews. Anne was born onJune 12 1929 to Otto and Edith Frank; they were German Jewish families that were successful bankers and business men. However, when Hitler came to power, he escape-goat the Jews for Germany’s problemsand wanted to annihilate all of the Jews and everyone that he did not consider “perfect”. In 1933 when the Nazis were becoming more violent and in power, Otto decided to move his family to Amsterdam.On February 1934, Anne Frank arrived at Amsterdam. When the Germans kept growing they took over Netherlands which caused Anne and Margo (her older sister) to go to a public Jewish school in 1940. OnJune 1942, Anne received her dairy for her 13th birthday; she loved it and wrote on it almost every day. Things were calm where they lived but Hitler didn’t stop and made a look out for Jews tocapture them and imprison them to a concentration camp.
Otto then took his family into hiding in an attic behind the office of the family’s business. Anne referred to this place in her dairy as “thesecret annex”. 4 Dutch Jews later joined Anne and her family into hiding. In her dairy she wrote everything that was on her mind and was even optimistic in those hectic and dark times. In the dairy shechronicles her dreams, ambitions and hopes.
They were in hiding for 2 years until on August 1944, they captures the Franks because of an anonymous source. They were transporter to their worst fear,the concentration camps. The family was separated; Anne and Margo (for their age) were in labor. Anne Frank and Margo died on March 1945 of typhus and starvation in the concentration camp. Otto was theonly one to survive only to find out that his whole family had died.
