Introduction

A timer is a specialized type of clock. A timer can be used to control the sequence of an event or process. In this experiment we built an electronic timer to control the working timeof any low power device. This project benefits us, because instead of pressing many times the switch of any device that you want to turn on, you only press once with the timer.

Materials:1 Diode
1Capacitor 1000 mF
1Resistor 330 Kohm
1Transistor NTE 265
One 12V DC Relay
1 pulse switch
1 Bakelite board
Copper wires

Tools:
Welder cautineTin

Silicon

Multimeter
Screwdriver
Procedure:
First identify each electronic component.
Take precautions to avoid electric shock.
Make a diagram to locate the electronic devicesin the Bakelite according to the technical diagram.
Interconnect each devices and solder.
Connect the power supply and test their operation.

By pressing the switch, it sends the electricity toall
the components of the timer, so it turns on.
Note: While you are connecting the components, do not
Turn on the timer, because you can damage it.

Conclusions
Timer transistor
Atransistorized timer is used for many applications in domestic appliances and control equipment in the industry.

The transistor acts as a circuit breaker with time delay controlled by a capacitor. Relayenables the transistor to handle high current loads to control devices.

Current technologies in the new electronic devices come with integrated micro timers.

For example: TV’s comes with the featuresleep mode that allows the TV to turn off in a selected time, the electronic alarm, the automatic coffee maker, etc.

In industry, timers are used for machinery automation processes.

Our projectis to present the principle operation of an electronic timer.
