Resumen
El autismo es un trastorno que suele diagnosticarse en la niñez. Los síntomas más importantes son problemas de socialización, comunicación y puede caracterizarse por conductas repetitivas. El autismo es un trastorno estático del desarrollo neurológico que persiste toda la vida y que incluye un amplio margen de alteraciones conductuales. Afecta entre1 a 2/1000 personas y varía mucho en cuanto a severidad. Un trastorno físico ligado a una biología y una química anormales en el cerebro, cuyas causas exactas se desconocen. Sin embargo, se trata de un área de investigación muy activa. Probablemente, haya una combinación de factores que llevan al autismo.
Los científicos no están seguros sobre qué causa el ASD, pero es probable que tanto la genética como el ambiente jueguen un papel.  Los investigadores han identificado un número de genes asociados con el trastorno.  Los estudios de las personas con ASD han encontrado irregularidades en varias regiones del cerebro.  Otros estudios sugieren que las personas con ASD tienen niveles anormales de serotonina u otros neurotransmisores en el cerebro. 
La sintomatología clínica de los individuosautistas está determinada por lo que se conoce como triada de Wing y que recoge en gran medida las primeras apreciaciones de Kenner: Deterioro Social, deterioro del lenguaje y de la comunicación, Patrón restringido de actividades e intereses.
El autismo es un síndrome que estadísticamente afecta a 4 de cada 1.000 niños aproximadamente. Actualmente las cifras muestran que el autismo ocurre en todoslos grupos raciales, étnicos y sociales. Estas estadísticas también demuestran que los varones tienen de tres a cuatro veces más probabilidad de
ser afectados por el autismo que las niñas.


Summary
The autism is a disorder that is in the habit of being diagnosed in the childhood. The most important symptoms are problems of socialization, communication and it can be characterized byrepetitive conducts. The autism is a static disorder of the neurological development that persists the whole life and that includes a wide margin of behavioral alterations. It concerns between 1 2/1000 you present and it changes very much as for severity. A physical disorder tied to an abnormal biology and chemistry in the brain, whose exact reasons are not known. Nevertheless, it is a question of an areaof very active investigation. Probably, there is a combination of factors that lead to the autism.
The scientists are not sure on what it causes the ASD, but it is probable that both the genetics and the environment are part of it. The investigators have identified a number of genes associated with the disorder. The studies of the persons with ASD have found irregularities in several regions ofthe brain. Other studies suggest that the persons with ASD have abnormal levels of serotonine or other neurotransmitters in the brain.
The clinical symptomatology of the autistic individuals is determined by what is known as Wing's triad and that gathers to a great extent the Kenner's first appraisals: Social Deterioration, deterioration of the language and of the communication, Boss restrictedof activities and interests.
The autism is a syndrome that statistically sympathetic on 4 of every 1.000 children approximately. Nowadays the numbers show that the autism happens in all the racial, ethnic and social groups. These statistics also demonstrate that the males have from three to four times more probability of being affected by the autism that the girls.
