The tiger

Tigers are one of the genus and species Panthera Tigris, and they are revered and feared, hunted and protected. These typically orange with black striped carnivores can be exceptionally large. There are actually several subspecies of tiger that live throughout partsof Asia, and though these species can mate, they have separate distinctions, tolerate different types of habitats, and may differ in size and proliferation. The largest males of the subspecies, Siberians, can weigh about 660 pounds (299.37 kg) and have a nose to tail tip length of 13 feet (3.96 m).
Tigers are carnivores not by choice or habit but by necessity. They are called obligate carnivoressince they must eat meat in order to survive. What types of meat typically are eaten largely depends upon subspecies and location of the tiger. Generally these mammals will eat various midsized animals. Occasionally there have been accounts of attacks on Asian elephants, and on crocodiles, but usually tigers have more sense than to attack creatures that have so great a potential to injure them.1

The Elephants

Elephants are large land mammals in two genera of the family Elephantidae: Elephas and Loxodonta. Three species of elephant are living today: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant and the Asian elephant (also known as theIndian elephant). All other species and genera of Elephantidae are extinct, some since the last ice age although dwarf forms of mammoths may have survived as late as 2,000 BCE.
Elephants are the largest land animals now living. The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. At birth it is common for an elephant calf to weigh 120 kilograms. They typically live for 50to 70 years, but the oldest recorded elephant lived for 82 years. The smallest elephants are about the size of a large pig.
Elephants are a symbol of wisdom in Asian cultures and are famous for their memory and intelligence, where their intelligence level is thought to be equal to that of dolphins. "The word "elephant" has its origins in the Greek, meaning "ivory" or "elephant".
According toobservations, healthy adult elephants have no natural predators, although lions may take calves or weak individuals. They are, however, threatened by human intrusion and poaching.
