Human beings often want to feel superior or just different from all the unknown or behave makes hostile and cruel. Determining that some of his fellow men are inferior and unworthy of equaltreatment. Battles over skin color or ethnicity have been the most crude and violent.

A majority of Latinos in the United States believes that discrimination is serious in the community and a third say theyknow specific instances of discrimination, if you have not experienced it firsthand.

In summary, 82% say that discrimination is the main problem that prevents them from succeeding in general,while 83% attributed to discrimination against Latinos themselves and almost half, 47%, rates of severe the problem.

Also, children of Hispanic immigrants adapt quickly to the American lifestyle andeven acquire similar views to their U.S. counterparts, according to a survey by the Pew Hispanic Center and the Family Foundation Henry J. Kaiser.

"The Latino population is undergoing a rapid processof change. Children of immigrants are absorbing the English and American lifestyles at a rapid pace. There is a generation gap in the homes of immigrants among foreign-born parents and theirAmericanized children. This is a sign that the melting pot is working, "said Roberto Suro, director of the Pew Hispanic Center when it releases the report at a news conference.

The above are two of severalfindings of the 2002 Latino National Survey conducted between April and June this year by the Pew Hispanic Center and the Family Foundation Henry J. Kaiser. Latinos were interviewed 2.929, 2.024 ofthem foreign-born and 915 US-born.

Much of Spanish-speaking respondents (1.309) and most come from Mexico (1,047). The margin of error is plus or minus 2.41 percentage points
