The “Cueca”

I will talk about the “Cueca” that is the national folk dance of my country, Chile. For me this is very important because when I was a kid my father taught me how to do it. In Chile wedance it every 18th of September that it is when we celebrate the Independence Day. Is like a break week when all the country drinks a lot a dance the “Cueca” all day and night. Now that I am here Icould not dance for the Independence Day and is something that I missed a lot. That is when I realized how much I love this dance and the importance that in Chile we give to the “Cueca”. Now I willtalk about the history of it and some facts about it.
It is the Chilean national folk dance par excellence, that like no other, has reached such a wide dispersion in all regions of the country, apractice so widespread among people of different ages and conditions, as representatively historical significance and also because however be strictly established choreographic form, is the most likelyplace of emotional richness in their execution, they develop one or more mixed couples or independent, with its dancers loose and use handkerchief.
