Fail Safe, Cause and Effect Essay

Fail Safe is a movie based on the Cold War, which was from The United States and The Soviet Union, the Cold War was between 1947 and 1991, in this war UnitedStates and The soviet union had the nuclear weapons, that are the most dangerous weapons that have been created.
In this movie, as it name says, they focus in the “fail safe points”, that are places inwhich a bomb can explode or air planes could crash and people wouldn´t be hurt. In the movie, an unidentified plane sent from Europe approaches USA land and American bombers rapidly went to theirfail safe points close to Russia; the bomber planes were supposed to stay at the fail safe points until they receive an order, but an error occurred, a code was sent to a group of bombers, who tried toverify the order, but with all radar activity from Russia they couldn´t; so they proceeded with what they had to do, knowing that it could start a nuclear war.
A man from the USA told the presidentthat they could send a higher attack with the accidental attack, to make Soviets surrender, but the President sent a signal to The Soviet Union, to show that the attack was accidental, the presidentsent some “fighters” to destroy the bombers, so Soviets could see that it was accidental, but they failed and fell to the ocean.
The president decided to call Russians to explain what is happening andask for their help to attack the bombers, Russia didn´t accept at first, but then they realized how bad it would be and accepted to help USA. The Soviet Union sent a group of planes to shoot down twofrom the six bombers, with American´s help, they shoot down two more. From the two bombers alive, one had no bombs, so Soviets decided to shot down the other that had a bomb. If the bomber exploded hisbomb at Moscow, the president would explode a bomb in New York, but the pilot of the bomber in New York decided to explode his bomb on air, to save New York and his family.
