CITY BASICO + GUALACEO – CHORDELEG































ABSTRACT. - ABSTRACT. - It is a route through the entire city; in this case it starts at the Oro Verde hotel in which you stay. It lasts whole day because you can know other cantons of Azuay Province like Gualaceo and Chordeleg. In this tour you can know more details about general information of thecity. This route has four stops, one in San Sebastian neighborhood which is one of the most important in this city for its history, in this place you can obtain an explanation about the history, main activities that people do there. The second stop is in Turi that is a tourist inn; you can have an overview of the city there. During this route you can see all the architecture of this city and knowthe principal characteristics. You can also learn about Cuenca's history, the most important cultures that lived here such as cañari, Inca and French conquerors. Besides you get basic information about The Cajas National Park and the main rivers: Tomebamba, Yanuncay, Tarqui and Machángara; and you can see where they join. You can know about the gastronomy, the typical food like cuy withpotatoes, and pig; and information about the handicrafts that cuencanos make. After those activities you can visit Gualaceo which is known as Garden of the Azuay, is one of the most developed cantons in the Azuay province for its harmony, the charm and the warmth of an old and modern city in the best valley in the northeastern mountain. And finally you can visit Chordeleg you can know the ceramic, thejewelry, the shoe store, the fabrics and the straw shawl, those activities have made that Chordeleg is a handmade center of great transcendence at national and international level. For this reason Chordeleg is considered as the jewels earth, you can find jewels of all size, model and weight there.
