PALMIRA CITY.

Palmira, this beautiful and wonderful city is the second city of the Valle Del Cauca`s department, near the capital city CALI. We can mentioned that Mr. Pedro Simon Càrdenas gave thename of “Villa de Las Palmas” because this tree was very common in our city.

We have a warm weather almost all the time, fresh air and rains occasionally. Its average temperature is 23 grades and its altitude is 1000 m. above sea level.

Some others customs are the celebration of the Ricardo Nieto’s International Festival, with it we must enjoy and have fun with the music, thedances, and theatre of other countries.

The religious beliefs are focus on the catholic and evangelicalreligion, of course we have our holy week on March or April of each year. The principal churches are the Nuestra Señora Rosario del Palmar`s cathedral, and the Carmelo`s church and Santisima Trinidadchurch.
