Narnia and the Bible
The comparison you are about to read is about a famous recent work named “The Chronicles of Narnia” written by C.S. Lewis, and a work from the Golden Age, “The Bible”. We chosethese two books because there are many themes, characters and things that do parallel themes and characters from the Bible. From some passages of the book, you can notice a link to a Bible verse.Let’s take a look to the first book of the Narnia saga; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. In this book, Aslan (the lion), parallels God, especially Jesus in many ways. One example is how Aslan dies inthe stead of Edmund; Aslan gives his live for Edmund’s so that he could live. Then Aslan rises form dead. Just like Jesus died for us and rose form dead 3 days later.
Another character in Narnia whois very similar to one in the Bible is the White Witch that parallels the devil. She is the ruler of Narnia even though Aslan is the one who created it. This is similar of how the devil is the princeof our world, while God is the one who owns it. Another fact I that in the Bible it says that the devil appears to be good on the outside but it is just because he deceives you so that he can get ahold on you. In Narnia the White Witch, treats Edmond nicely to get him to bring his siblings to Narnia, once she was done she treated Edmond no better than a slave.
A crucial theme in the Bible is howwe always have to ask for forgiveness after we have done our sins. In the book, Aslan tells Peter to always wipe the blood off of the sword, so every time a battle ended, he always wiped the bloodoff of his sword, just like we have to always repent of our sins.
The last book of the saga of Narnia is just like the last verses of the Biblie (Exodus and Revelations). The old Narnia was swept awayand the new Narnia was there for them, a new world where there’s no pain, just like our Earth as said in the Bible, one day we will all be swept away but we will also get a new Earth for those who...
