1. INTRODUCTION:
We are going to talk about a comparison between two very important books in children´s literature. These books are: Peter Pan and Robin Hood.
Firstly, before to begin with the development of this work, it´s necessary to show the importance ofliterature in teaching. Literature helps us to develop different points in the learning process.
• Extension of the lexicon.
• Incentive the creativity and the imagination.
• Help to the transmission of social and cultural values.
• Improvement the reading speed.
• Help to know different important facts of the society.
Hence it´s very important to teach with literature when children are younger,they have to consider it as a hobby not as an obligation; teaching and literature have to be linked. It´s necessary to adapt the books according the level and the age, and we have to know their likes and dislikes and their preferences.
During the history of the literature, there are great authors of children´s literature, we can do reference in this group to authors such as: Hans ChristianAndersen ("The Steadfast Tin Soldier"), Lewis Carroll ("Alice in Wonderland"), Charles Perrault ("Cinderella"), Rudyard Kipling ("The Jungle Book"), Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm ("Hansel and Gretel"), among other important authors.
This group of authors have been very important for the development of the children´s literature; we can observe several mentions of different authors.

2. ROBIN HOOD. Author and Socio-cultural context:
Howard Pyle (March 5, 1853 – November 9, 1911) was an American illustrator and author, primarily of books for young people. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, he spent the last year of his life in Florence, Italy.
During 1894 he began teaching illustration at the Drexel Institute of Art,Science and Industry (now Drexel University), and after 1900 he founded his own school of art and illustration named the Howard Pyle School of Illustration Art.
His 1883 classic publication The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood remains in print, and his other books, frequently with medieval European settings, include a four-volume set on King Arthur. He is also well known for his illustrations ofpirates, and is credited with creating the now stereotypical modern image of pirate dress.
He published an original novel, Otto of the Silver Hand, in 1888. He also illustrated historical and adventure stories for periodicals such as Harper's Weekly and St. Nicholas Magazine. His novel Men of Iron was made into a movie in 1954, The Black Shield of Falworth.
